Wow! What a Delay.

Posted by Dan on March 29, 2008

Well, as the final touches were being put on the Amy & Marisol short in preparation for web deployment, Director of Photography Michael Thomas and I had the opportunity to travel to Asia to film a documentary on Nepal’s One Horned Asian Rhino. Needless to say it was an amazing experience living in a small mud hut village in the southern Terai jungle region near the Indian border, riding elephants and filming exotic wildlife. That being said it resulted in a massive delay in The Beckoning Road. Apologies to all those involved and those eagerly awaiting phase one’s release. With our editor returning from LA this weekend I anticipate an expedited schedule to release. Please be patient and stay tuned for updates!  Thanks again,  -Dan

The Amy & Marisol Story

Posted by Dan on August 30, 2007

In late 2006 a pair of friends, Amy Strang and Marisol Visali left Northern California for South America with the plan of slowly making their way North back to the U.S.. Our plan was to make a short film detailing their adventures, experiences and growth along the way. We would eventually meet up with the girls in early 2007 in Granada, Nicaragua and follow them North as their journey took them. The Amy & Marisol Short is an example of the type of personal story of wanderlust and adventure that the Beckoning Road seeks to capture.

We receive correspondence from Amy & Marisol from time to time, and these emails and updates about their story can be found any time by clicking on the Amy & Marisol category link to the right.

Well the editing continues on the first phase of the “Beckoning Road” project. Thanks so much to everyone who’s given us their time and support so far. We couldn’t be doing this without you.

The Amy & Marisol short is still slated to debut by the end of the year but  a new series of video teasers will go up on the site in the next two weeks. Take a look and feel free to leave comments. We love hearing the response. This new version of the website will be fully functional by September 7th and will contain plenty of new features and content. Stay tuned. - Dan

Into the Editing Room!/Amy comes home early?

Posted by Dan on May 30, 2007

Rumor has it that Amy, upon saying goodbye to her visiting friends at the Guatemala City Airport on Thursday, decided she’d had enough and spent the last of her money on a flight home right then and there! Stay tuned for more updates as we interview the ladies in the coming weeks about returning to the U.S..

Well, while condensing 18 hours of spectacular footage into a twenty minute short might seem easy, several weeks of painful cuts still lay ahead. The editing process begins this week in the 8thWonder editing suite in Emeryville, CA. Production photos from the Central America shoot will be up later this week. As always, check back frequently for updates and sign up for the email list.
